JOB PURPOSE
To plan, optimize, and coordinate daily transportation routes to ensure the
timely, cost-effective, and efficient movement of shipments while maximizing
fleet utilization, meeting service level agreements (SLAs), and supporting overall
operational performance.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a. Route Planning & Optimization
- 1. Develop daily, weekly, and monthly linehaul and shuttle route plans.
- 2. Analyze shipment volume, delivery requirements, and vehicle capacity.
- 3. Optimize routes to reduce cost and improve utilization.
- 4. Identify opportunities for route consolidation.
- 5. Review route performance and recommend improvements.
- 6. Maintain route master data and planning reports.
b. Truck Planning
- 1. Forecast truck requirements
- 2. Coordinate truck allocation requirements with Logistics Coordinators
b. Vendor coordination
- 1. Coordinate with accredited transport vendors regarding required capacity
- 2. Check vendor availability based on planned routes and shipment requirements
- 3. Communicate trip requirements, schedules, and service expectations
- 4. Coordinate additional transport requirements during peak periods
- 5. Monitor vendor commitment versus actual deployment
- 6. Escalate vendor capacity issues to the Transport Operations Manager
c. Coordination with Vendor Account Coordinator
- 1. Maintain vendor performance monitoring records
- 2. Track Vendor KPIs
- i. Vehicle availability
- ii. On-time pickup performance
- iii. Trip completion
- iv. Service compliance
- 3. Provide feedback on vendor performance
- 4. Support vendor evaluation and improvement initiatives
- 5. Maintain updated vendor capability database
d. Procurement Support
- 1. Provide transport requirements for sourcing activities
- 2. Support quotation requests from transport providers
- 3. Validate vendor rates against route requirements and market conditions
- 4. Provide route analysis for cost evaluation
- 5. Support transport contract renewal discussions
- 6. Coordinate with procurement for vendor accreditation requirements
- 7. Validate trucking quotations
- 8. Support contract implementation.
e. Reporting
- 1. Analyze route costs
- 2. Prepare utilization reports
- 3. Recommend operational improvements
- 4. Maintain route database and planning reports
- 5. Consolidation of accrual
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain
Management, Business Administration, or related field
Minimum 2–5 years of experience in:
Route Planning
Warehouse Logistics
Gateway Operations
Supervisory Exposure
Operations Support Competencies, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Able to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced setting
Willing to work on shifting schedules, including weekends and holidays if required
Ability to work under pressure, demonstrate urgency and meet tight deadlines
Strong understanding of end-to-end logistics processes (inbound, sorting, dispatching)
Good communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
b. Technical Competencies
Proficient in Microsoft Office (excel, word, PowerPoint)
c. Licensure / Certification Required
Certification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Lean, or Six Sigma is an advantage
