The Leasing Assistant supports the leasing team in managing day-to-day operations of residential or commercial properties. This role involves coordinating leasing activities, assisting prospective tenants, handling administrative tasks, and ensuring smooth communication between departments. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and customer-service oriented.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist prospective tenants in person, over the phone, and via email.
- Schedule and conduct property tours, showcasing available units and community features.
- Respond promptly to leasing inquiries and provide accurate information on availability, pricing, and lease terms.
- Process rental applications, including background and credit checks.
- Prepare and manage leasing documents, renewals, and move-in/move-out procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of leasing activity, tenant information, and property occupancy.
- Support marketing efforts by updating property listings and creating promotional materials.
- Ensure model units and common areas are clean and well-presented.
- Coordinate with the maintenance and management teams to address tenant concerns.
- Perform general administrative duties such as data entry, file management, and reporting.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in payroll preparation.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Strong listening skills and ability to handle tasks with minimal supervision.
- Previous experience in leasing, real estate, or customer service is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and property management software (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio, RealPage).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, dependable, and professional.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends if needed.
