Job summary

UnionBank of the Philippines (UBP) is seeking a Risk Policy Team Lead to apply advanced risk management techniques and analyze credit performance to adjust policies. You will develop new methodologies, mentor junior staff, and present findings to senior stakeholders.

The role focuses on ensuring policy alignment with regulatory standards, managing risk across the credit spectrum, and supporting implementation of risk initiatives in a dynamic banking environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
• Solid experience in credit risk, risk policy, or portfolio risk within banking or financial services.
• Strong working knowledge of SAS, Python, or R and experience in credit modeling, scoring, or segmentation.
• Solid understanding of credit risk frameworks, portfolio performance analysis, and BSP/regulatory standards.
• Proven leadership skills with experience in mentoring teams and presenting insights to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development of new techniques and improvement of risk management processes and workflows.
• Develop recommendations to adjust credit policies by analyzing credit and financial performance using statistical methods.
• Utilize SAS in UNIX environment to perform risk, financial and data analyses including profiling and sampling.
• Research customer and management queries using risk systems and support ad-hoc risk policy analyses and projects.
• Assist in developing, testing, and optimizing credit policies and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepare risk management presentations for senior management and communicate risk implications.
