Job summary

Interactive Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Tagaytay City, Cavite is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Helper/Butcher to support our culinary team. This full-time role focuses on meat prep, portioning, and kitchen upkeep to ensure high-quality meals for guests.

You will work closely with senior staff, maintain food safety standards, assist with stock and ordering, and help move items between storage and kitchen. English and local languages are welcome.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Helper, Butcher or in a similar kitchen support role within the hospitality industry.
• Practical knowledge of meat handling, butchering techniques and food preparation methods.
• A strong understanding of food safety standards, cross-contamination prevention and proper hygiene practices.
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform demanding tasks including standing for extended periods and lifting heavy items.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with precision and accuracy.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to take direction from senior kitchen staff.
• Reliability, punctuality and a commitment to maintaining high standards in food preparation.
• Certification in food safety or HACCP training is advantageous.
• Fluency in English and/or local languages is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and portioning of meats and proteins in accordance with culinary standards and food safety regulations
• Perform butchering tasks including trimming, cutting, and preparing various cuts of meat for cooking and plating
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage and labelling of ingredients
• Support the kitchen team with food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and other ingredients
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring all tools are clean, sanitised and in good working order
• Follow all food safety and hygiene protocols to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Assist with stock rotation, inventory management and ordering of kitchen supplies as directed
• Help transport and organise food items between storage areas and the kitchen workspace
• Collaborate with senior kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely preparation of meals
