Job summary

Liveware in Makati, Philippines, is looking for a Junior Accountant to join our growing Finance team on site. You will support day-to-day accounting, payroll, and tax filings with focus on accuracy and timely reporting.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in accounting, a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, and familiarity with GAAP/IFRS. We use Xero and Excel and offer growth in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 1–2 years of accounting or finance experience.
• On-site work in Makati, Philippines.
• Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and tax filing processes.
• Payroll processing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Record day-to-day financial transactions accurately.
• Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with accounts payable/receivable and payroll tasks.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports.
• Support filings of BIR returns and tax compliance.

We’re looking for a motivated and detail oriented Junior Accountant to work with our growing team in our beautiful office in Makati.

Responsibilities:

• Record day to day financial transactions (accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash disbursements) accurately and on time
• Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly
• Assist withaccounts payable & accounts receivable functions
• Assist with payroll processing and related payroll administration
• Assist with tracking statutory contributions to ensure accurate recording and timely payment processing
• Assist with the preparation of monthly|quarterly| annual financial reports
• Assist with the preparation and timely filling of BIR returns
• Assist with cash flow monitoring, reconciliation and reporting
• Assist with the management and reconciliation of petty cash
• Assist with the preparation of financial schedules and supporting documentation for audits
• Maintain accurate and organised financial files and supporting documentation
• Support process improvement initiatives within the Finance team
• Liaise with other departments to obtain financial information and resolve discrepancies
• Identify and report discrepancies or unusual transactions to the Senior Financial Accountant
• Provide administrative and accounting support to the Finance team
• Complete accounting tasks accurately and within agreed deadlines
• Other accounting duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Must be willing to work on site
• 1–2 years of experience in accounting or finance
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Understanding of financial reporting and reconciliation processes
• Understanding of payroll processes and requirements
• Understanding of tax laws, regulations and filing procedures for both individuals and businesses
• Familiarity with accounting software, spreadsheets and database systems, i.e. Xero
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Experience with payroll processing is essential
• Experience with accounts payable and/or accounts receivable
• Exposure to bank reconciliations
• Experience working with accounting software, preferably Xero
• Experience in a BPO environment would be advantageous
• Experience working in a high-volume finance environment would be advantageous
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to learn and develop accounting knowledge and skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling financial and employee information
