A Plus Falcons Freight Inc. is seeking a Junior Operations Manager to assist in managing daily customs brokerage operations in Manila. The role focuses on timely processing of import and export shipments, compliance with laws, and driving service quality within the department.

You will lead Brokerage Associates and Documentation Staff, monitor performance, and support process improvements, audits, and customer satisfaction initiatives. Ermita, Manila assignment is expected.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in customs administration, business, logistics, or a related field.
• Licensed Customs Broker is an advantage.
• At least 3 years working experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or logistics operations.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee daily customs brokerage operations to ensure timely processing of import/export shipments.
• Monitor workflows for compliance with regulations and service standards.
• Coordinate with customs authorities, shippers, freight forwarders, clients to facilitate shipments.
• Lead and coach Brokerage Associates and Documentation Staff.
• Prepare operational reports and suggest process improvements.
• Assist in manpower scheduling and SOP compliance.
• Participate in departmental meetings and strategic planning.

Job Summary

The Junior Operations Manager assists in managing the daily operations of the brokerage department. The role ensures that customs brokerage processes are executed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with applicable customs laws and regulations. The incumbent supports operational planning, team leadership, customer satisfaction, and continuous process improvement while helping achieve departmental goals.

Duties & Responsibilities

Operations Management

• Assist in overseeing the daily customs brokerage operations to ensure timely and accurate processing of import and export shipments.
• Monitor operational workflows and ensure adherence to company policies, customs regulations, and service standards.
• Coordinate with customs authorities, shipping lines, freight forwarders, clients, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth shipment processing.
• Support the implementation of operational strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and service quality.
• Resolve operational issues and elevate critical concerns to the Sr. Operations Manager when necessary.
• Ensure proper documentation and accurate recordkeeping for all brokerage transactions.

Team Leadership

• Supervise and provide guidance to Brokerage Associates, Documentation Staff, and Operations Coordinators.
• Monitor employee performance and provide coaching to improve productivity and service quality.
• Assist in training new employees on brokerage procedures, compliance requirements, and company policies.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning within the department.

Compliance and Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with customs laws, tariff classifications, valuation requirements, and other government regulations.
• Monitor updates to customs regulations and communicate changes to the operations team.
• Assist in preparing documents for customs audits and regulatory inspections.
• Identify operational risks and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Customer Service

• Ensure prompt and professional responses to customer inquiries and operational concerns.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients by delivering reliable and efficient brokerage services.
• Coordinate with Sales and Customer Service teams regarding shipment status and customer requirements.
• Assist in resolving customer complaints and service issues promptly.

Performance Monitoring

• Monitor key operational metrics such as shipment turnaround time, customs clearance efficiency, and service accuracy.
• Prepare operational reports and performance summaries for management.
• Recommend process improvements that enhance operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Assist in manpower scheduling and workload distribution.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and standard operating procedures.
• Participate in departmental meetings and strategic planning activities.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Sr. Operations Manager and President & CEO.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Customs Administration, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Licensed Customs Broker is an advantage.
• With at least 3 years working experience in the same capacity.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or logistics operations.
