Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit generation offers and bids in WESM.
• Coordinate daily trading with WESM, NGCP, Control Room Operators, and customers.
• Ensure accurate declaration and allocation of BCQ.
• Monitor generation dispatch and ensure dispatch tolerance compliance.
• Prepare and submit daily trading and operations reports.
• Monitor WESM grid status and outage schedules.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, WESM rules, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in EHS programs.

About the Role

We are looking for a Jr. Energy Trader to support the trading of available power plant capacity in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM). You will be involved in bid submission, coordination with market operators, preparation of trading reports, and ensuring compliance with WESM rules and internal procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit generation offers and bids in WESM based on trading strategies and plant conditions

• Coordinate daily trading activities with WESM, NGCP, Control Room Operators, and customers

• Ensure accurate declaration and allocation of Bilateral Contract Quantities (BCQ)

• Monitor generation dispatch and ensure compliance with dispatch tolerance limits

• Prepare and submit daily trading and operations reports

• Monitor WESM grid status and outage schedules

• Ensure compliance with company policies, WESM rules, and regulatory requirements

• Participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or related fields

• With or without work experience (fresh graduates are welcome to apply)

• Strong analytical and numerical skills

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Detail-oriented and able to work accurately under time-sensitive conditions

• Willing to work in shift schedules, if required
