Job summary

Ashlar Energy in the Philippines is seeking a Trading Analyst to manage day-to-day electricity trading operations and optimise renewable energy portfolios. The role is pivotal for executing trading strategies, complying with regulatory requirements, and delivering actionable market insights to maximise plant performance.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily trading strategies including real time demand bid offers and intraday nominations.
• Analyze plant constraints, system conditions, and grid status to optimise dispatch outputs.
• Coordinate directly with power plant personnel, system operators, and market operators.
• Ensure 100% compliance with DOE, WESM, and ERC requirements.
• Maintain accurate performance logs and facilitate data flow for audits.
• Collaborate with technical and legal teams and maintain documentation for trading decisions and filings.

We are currently looking for a Trading Analyst who will be responsible for managing the day-to-day electricity trading operations and optimising renewable energy portfolios. This role is pivotal in executing trading strategies, ensuring strict regulatory adherence, and delivering actionable insights from market data to maximise plant performance.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Execute daily trading strategies including real time demand bid offers and intraday nominations,
• Analyze plant constraints, system conditions, and grid status to optimise dispatch outputs,
• Coordinate directly with power plant personnel, system operators, and market operators,
• Ensure 100% compliance with DOE, WESM, and ERC requirements,
• Maintain accurate performance logs and facilitate the flow of data for internal and external audits,
• Work closely with the technical and legal teams and
• Maintain organised documentation for all trading decisions and compliance filings using our integrated workflow management tools.

Qualifications & experience

To be successful in this role, skills and qualifications must include:

• Preferably with strong understanding of WESM trading mechanics and the Philippine energy regulatory framework,
• Proficiency in data analysis with a high level of accuracy,
• Able to manage complex spreadsheets and interpret real-time market data,
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-stakes environment where precise, timely action prevents financial risk,

• Preferably has a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or a closely related field
