Job summary

Investco BHPI Inc. in Quezon City, Philippines, is seeking an Energy Trader to oversee the company’s participation in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM).

This on-site role requires close collaboration with plant operations, WESM, and government agencies to optimize trading and ensure regulatory compliance. The candidate should have a background in electrical or mechanical engineering and proven experience in energy trading, WESM nominations, and related PEMC/IEMOP/TransCo transactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in energy trading and nomination at WESM.
• Transactions with PEMC, IEMOP, and TransCo.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage energy dispatch in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM).
• Prepare daily and look-ahead energy nomination schedules.
• Coordinate with the power plant on real-time dispatch and operations.
• Help ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for plant operations.
• Prepare daily energy trading and operational reports.
• Coordinate with the plant, WESM, and government agencies during maintenance and planned or unplanned outages.
• Assist in securing government permits and approvals.

About the Role:

We are looking f or an Energy Trader to manage the company's participation in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM). In this role, you will monitor energy dispatch, prepare trading

nominations and schedules, coordinate with power plant operations, and ensure compliance with market and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with plant personnel, WESM, and government agencies to support reliable plant operations, optimize energy trading, and maintain accurate operational and trading reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage energy dispatch in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM).
