Job summary

Semirara Mining and Power Corporation seeks a Jr. Energy Trader to support the trading of available power plant capacity in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM). This role is ideal for fresh graduates or early-career professionals who want to build a career in energy trading, power markets, and settlement operations.

You will be involved in bid submission, coordination with market operators, preparation of trading reports, and ensuring compliance with WESM rules and internal procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or related fields.

• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Good written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit generation offers and bids in WESM.
• Coordinate daily trading with WESM, NGCP, Control Room Operators, and customers.
• Ensure accurate declaration and allocation of BCQ.
• Monitor generation dispatch and ensure dispatch tolerance compliance.
• Prepare and submit daily trading and operations reports.
• Monitor WESM grid status and outage schedules.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, WESM rules, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in EHS programs.
