Job summary

University of San Agustin in Iloilo City is seeking an IT Technical Assistant to support faculty and students in the Computer Laboratory during laboratory classes. The role includes training and supervising student assistants, performing data encoding and routine maintenance, and ensuring the proper operation of computer units.

You will take over classes in the teacher's absence and report any malfunctions for prompt repairs.

• Takes over the class in the absence of the teacher.
• Reports any computer unit malfunction or damage for proper repair.
• Communicates and implements the IT Laboratory rules to students.
• Trains, supervises, and monitors the progress of the student assistants.
• Performs other assigned functions related to duties.

About the role

• Participates in training programs and learning sessions for the enhancement of professional, technical, and personal proficiencies;

• Performs computer data encoding, layouting and computer maintenance for the Information Technology Dept.;

• Checks and maintains the proper operation of the computer units;

• Takes over the class in the absence of the teacher;

• Reports any computer unit malfunction or damage so that the proper repair procedure can be initiated.

• Communicates and implements the rules and regulations of the IT Laboratory to the students;

• Trains, supervises, and monitors the progress of the student assistants;

• Performs such other assigned functions that are analogous, germane or related to and/or implied from the preceding enumeration of duties and responsibilities.
