Job summary

AMA Computer College Inc. is seeking an IT Specialist cum Lab Tech to install, maintain, and secure the campus IT infrastructure and computer laboratories. You will ensure all systems and equipment are fully operational to support classes and administrative activities.

You will troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, manage user accounts, backups, and security, and provide on-site technical assistance to faculty, staff, and students in a fast-paced learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field is required.
• Minimum 1 year of industry experience.
• Knowledge of hardware, software installation, OS, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with LAN/WAN, network configuration, routers, switches, wireless networking, and basic server administration.

About the role

The IT Specialist cum Lab Tech is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and security of the campus' information technology infrastructure and computer laboratories. This role ensures that all computer systems, network resources, and laboratory equipment are fully operational to support academic and administrative activities. The position also provides technical assistance to faculty, staff, and students while maintaining a safe, secure, and efficient learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop computers, laptops, printers, projectors, and other IT equipment.
• Install, update, and maintain operating systems, application software, antivirus programs, and educational software used in laboratories.
• Provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues.
• Monitor and maintain the campus network, internet connectivity, Wi-Fi access points, and other network devices.
• Perform preventive maintenance on computer laboratories and IT equipment to minimize downtime.
• Ensure that all computer laboratories are fully functional, organized, and ready for scheduled classes and examinations.
• Monitor laboratory usage and provide on-site technical assistance during laboratory sessions when necessary.
• Manage user accounts, passwords, and system access in accordance with institutional policies.
• Perform regular system backups and assist in implementing disaster recovery and data protection procedures.
• Implement cybersecurity best practices to safeguard institutional systems, devices, and confidential information.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year industry experience
