About the role
Oversees the day-to-day operations of the company's IT environment and ensures that computer systems, networks, applications, communication systems, and technology used in waste management operations remain secure, reliable, and available. The role provides technical leadership to the IT team, coordinates IT projects and vendors, manages IT assets and infrastructure, and ensures timely resolution of technical issues affecting both administrative and field operations.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the daily activities of the IT support team
- Provide technical guidance and escalate complex IT problems when necessary
- Maintain and monitor servers, computers, networks, internet connections, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, printers, and other IT infrastructure
- Ensure reliable operation of business-critical systems and applications
- Manage user accounts, access permissions, email systems, and security controls
- Monitor and maintain CCTV, GPS tracking, fleet-management, timekeeping, and other operational technology systems
- Provide IT support for waste collection operations, fleet personnel, drivers, supervisors, transfer stations, warehouses, and disposal facilities
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for IT equipment and infrastructure
- Manage procurement, installation, configuration, and replacement of IT hardware and software
- Coordinate with internet providers, telecommunications companies, software vendors, CCTV/GPS suppliers, and external IT service providers
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- At least 3-5 years of relevant IT experience, preferably with supervisory or team-lead experience
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Microsoft 365
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware and troubleshooting
- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN and Wi-Fi networking
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routers, switches, and firewalls
- Strong knowledge of servers and data backup
- Strong knowledge of CCTV and access-control systems
- Strong knowledge of GPS/fleet tracking systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good leadership, communication, and organizational skills
