About the role
Provides technical support and maintains the company's computers, network infrastructure, software applications, communication systems, and other IT equipment. The position supports both office-based employees and field operations to ensure that technology systems are reliable, secure, and available for daily waste collection, transportation, monitoring, and administrative activities.
Key responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support to employees for hardware, software, network, and system-related issues
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computers, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and other IT equipment
- Assist in maintaining LAN/Wi-Fi networks, internet connections, routers, switches, and other network devices
- Create and manage user accounts, passwords, email accounts, and access permissions
- Install and update operating systems, applications, antivirus software, and security patches
- Maintain an inventory of computers, IT equipment, software licenses, and other technology assets
- Perform regular data backups and assist with data recovery when necessary
- Monitor and troubleshoot CCTV systems, GPS/vehicle tracking systems, timekeeping systems, and other operational technology, when applicable
- Provide technical support to waste collection teams, drivers, supervisors, and personnel working at transfer stations, warehouses, or disposal facilities
- Maintain documentation of IT incidents, repairs, equipment assignments, and system configurations
About you
- Graduate of Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related course
- Preferably with 1–2 years of IT support/helpdesk experience, although fresh graduates may be considered for entry-level positions
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365, computer hardware, networking, and basic troubleshooting
- Basic knowledge of LAN, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, routers, switches, and printers
- Familiarity with CCTV, GPS tracking, fleet management, or database systems is an advantage
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to provide support to field personnel and operational sites, including waste collection or disposal facilities
- Able to work independently and respond to urgent technical problems when necessary
- A valid driver's license may be an advantage if the position requires travel between company facilities
