Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience, with a minimum of 3 years directing technology projects in banking/finance.

• Experience managing budgets and cross-functional teams on complex implementations.
• Knowledge of SDLC and IT service delivery for financial institutions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute and oversee full lifecycle banking technology projects from initiation through closure.
• Develop project plans, timelines, budgets and resource allocations for banking sector needs.
• Lead cross-functional teams of developers, analysts and QA to deliver milestones on schedule.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks, issues and dependencies in banking contexts.
• Maintain regular client and stakeholder communications with status reports and documentation.
• Ensure adherence to banking standards, compliance and security throughout the project lifecycle.

About The Role

NCS Philippines is seeking an experienced Project Manager with Banking Industry Background to join our team on a full-time, onsite basis in Makati City, Metro Manila. This is a strategic role that plays a crucial part in delivering high-impact technology projects within the banking and financial services sector. You will be responsible for overseeing complex project implementations, ensuring timely delivery, maintaining quality standards, and driving successful outcomes for our banking clients. This position offers the opportunity to leverage your deep understanding of banking operations and regulatory requirements whilst managing diverse project teams and stakeholders in a fast-paced technology environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute and oversee full lifecycle banking technology projects from initiation through closure, ensuring alignment with business objectives and client expectations
• Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets and resource allocations specific to banking sector requirements and regulatory compliance
• Manage cross-functional teams comprising developers, analysts, quality assurance professionals and business stakeholders to deliver project milestones on schedule
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks, issues and dependencies with particular attention to banking industry-specific challenges such as regulatory compliance and data security
• Maintain regular communication with clients and senior stakeholders through status reports, progress meetings and documentation of deliverables
• Ensure adherence to banking sector standards, compliance requirements and security protocols throughout the project lifecycle
• Track project performance against key metrics including scope, schedule, budget and quality indicators
• Facilitate requirements gathering, change management and scope control to minimise scope creep and project delays
• Conduct post-project reviews and capture lessons learned to continuously improve project delivery methodologies
• Support business development efforts by providing technical insights and project feasibility assessments for banking sector opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

What we're looking for:

• 5+ years of project management experience, with a minimum of 3 years directly managing technology projects within the banking or financial services sector
• Strong understanding of banking operations, including core banking systems, payment processing, regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements such as BSP guidelines
• Proven expertise in managing complex, mission-critical technology implementations with budgets and teams of varying sizes
• Advanced proficiency in project management methodologies including Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid approaches, with demonstrated ability to select appropriate methodologies for banking environments
• Solid knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and IT service delivery frameworks relevant to financial institutions
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical banking executives
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities with experience managing high-pressure situations and tight deadlines
• Proficiency in project management tools and software (such as MS Project, JIRA, or equivalent)
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management or related field
• Project Management Professional (PMP), or equivalent certification is highly desirable
• Excellent organisational, leadership and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams
• Knowledge of banking security standards, data protection regulations and IT governance frameworks is advantageous
