The Project Management Officer (PMO) will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of a large-scale digital transformation initiative within the bank. This individual will be responsible for establishing and managing project governance frameworks, providing centralized support to the project team, and driving continuous improvement across the program. The PMO will work closely with senior leadership, delivery managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain project governance frameworks, processes, templates, standards, and escalation procedures to ensure effective program oversight.
- Define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) across all program workstreams.
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies, project governance standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Provide centralized project management support, including access to tools, resources, methodologies, and best practices.
- Foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and alignment among project teams and workstreams.
- Support delivery managers in addressing project challenges, resolving roadblocks, and escalating issues when necessary.
- Monitor program performance, progress, risks, and dependencies to proactively identify and mitigate potential issues.
- Prepare and present regular status reports, dashboards, and updates on program progress, risks, and key initiatives to management and stakeholders.
- Communicate project milestones, achievements, risks, and critical updates to stakeholders across the organization.
- Partner with senior leaders and key stakeholders to ensure effective governance, decision-making, and program alignment.
- Manage stakeholder concerns by facilitating timely resolution and maintaining strong working relationships.
- Analyze project and program performance data to identify opportunities for process enhancement and operational efficiency.
- Drive the adoption of project management best practices and continuous improvement initiatives across the program.
- Implement process improvements that enhance project delivery, governance effectiveness, and overall program outcomes.
- Develop and facilitate project management training, coaching, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to strengthen organizational project management capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience managing Project Management Office (PMO) functions within complex organizations, preferably in the financial services sector.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Project Manager with direct team management responsibilities within the banking, financial services, or insurance industry.
- Strong knowledge of project management frameworks such as Scrum, PMP, and Kanban; relevant project management certifications are highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, Iterative Waterfall, and Scrum, as well as industry best practices.
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale, enterprise-wide, or complex application development and implementation projects.
- Proficient in the use of project management tools, software, and reporting platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage, influence, and present to stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions.
