Job summary

Home Credit Philippines is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer - Linux to support enterprise operations, ensuring uptime and availability across Linux-based servers, both physical and virtual, in a hybrid work setup.

You will handle provisioning, patching, monitoring with tools like Nagios/Splunk; develop scripts for automation; and act as escalation expert. Experience with AWS/Azure and VMware ESXi is desirable.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Linux system administration experience.
• Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware in a networked environment.
• Experience with Linux OS support for servers and workstations.
• Understanding of remediation of security vulnerabilities; hardening of Red Hat or Oracle Linux or other opensource systems.
• Proficient in scripting.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
• Experience with environmental monitoring tools (Nagios, Splunk, Zabbix, SolarWinds).
• Knowledgeable in cloud environments AWS and Azure.
• Knowledgeable in VMware and ESXi (6.x or higher) configuration and management.

Responsibilities

• Ensure provisioning, OS patches/updates, installation, configuration and maintenance of systems hardware and software.
• Administer Unix/Linux-based server network with physical and virtual servers.
• Participate in R&D to enable ongoing infra innovation.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain server-based applications including Unix/Linux services and AD/ LDAP.
• Perform daily system monitoring and verify uptime, logs, and backups.
• Create, configure and deploy virtual machines and backup configurations.
• Provide direction for Linux system performance and enhancements.
• Develop scripts and utilities for user access management and remote peripherals customization.
• Serve as 1st/2nd level escalation support for operational systems.
• Mentor team members and train on Closed Area standard deployments.
• Maintain data center environment and monitoring equipment.
• Provide Tier II support with IT groups as requested; investigate and troubleshoot issues.

About The Job

The Infrastructure Engineer - Linux role served as level 1 s t / 2 nd to support enterprise and Business operations. Th at include maintaining and managi ng System infrastructure uptime and availability. Also, to ensure that all IT services are effective ly deliver .

What You’ll Do

• Responsible for effective provisioning, OS Patches/updates, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure matter .
• Administers and maintains a Unix/Linux-based server network, with a combination of physical and virtual servers.
• Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
• Installs, configures, troubleshoots, and maintains server-based applications running on the network including Unix/Linux Services AD\LDAP.
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
• Assist to create, configure, and deploy all virtual machines and install and provide backup to all configuration procedures.
• Providing overall direction for Linux system performance and enhancements.
• Perform tests on all new software and maintain patches for management services.
• Develops various scripts and utilities ( mainly for user access management and for customization of the remote peripherals).
• Serve as 1 st and 2nd level escalation support for operational systems.
• Serve as subject matter expert in one or more areas of Closed Area standard deployments, train, and mentor other team members .
• Maintain system efficiency, data center environmental and monitoring equipment.
• Provide Tier II/other support with IT groups as per request from various constituencies and provide them with the necessary assistance . Investigate and troubleshoot issues.

What You Need To Have

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a Linux System Administrator r ole
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a System Administrator
• Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware in a networked environment.
• Linux Operating Systems support experience.
• Linux Workstation and Server management experience.
• U nderstanding of remediating security vulnerabilities; experience hardening Red Hat , Oracle Linux, or other Opensource Systems
• Knowledgeable in S cripting
• Understanding on network concept and protocols
• Knowledge of environmental monitoring tools (Nagios, Splunk, Zabbix, Solar Winds)
• Knowledgeable in cloud environment AWS and Azure.
