Job summary

Gaisano Brothers Merchandising, Inc. is seeking an Inventory and Fixed Asset Accountant to join our Accounting team. You will protect company assets through precise fixed asset management, inventory tracking, cost valuation, and audit compliance.

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will coordinate with warehouse, sales, and IT to optimize accounting software workflows and ensure accurate month-end close. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Experience as Inventory/Fixed Asset Accountant or similar role.
• Strong understanding of valuation methods (FIFO, Weighted Avg) and depreciation rules.
• Hands-on with accounting software/ERP and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Fixed Asset Management: track purchases, transfers, disposals; calculate depreciation; prepare monthly schedules.
• Inventory Tracking & Valuation: monitor inventory transactions; perform cost of sales calculations; assist in reconciliations.
• Audit & Compliance: provide documentation for internal/external audits; ensure policy compliance.
• Process Improvement: collaborate with warehouse, sales, and IT to optimize accounting software workflows and inventory accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Fixed Asset Management: Track purchases, transfers, and disposals; calculate depreciation and prepare monthly lapsing schedules.
• Inventory Tracking & Valuation: Monitor inventory transactions, perform cost of sales calculations, and handle month-end and year-end reconciliations.
• Audit & Compliance: Provide documentation for internal and external audits, ensuring company-wide compliance with accounting policies.
• Process Improvement: Partner with warehouse, sales, and IT teams to optimize accounting software workflows and inventory accuracy.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Proven background as an Inventory/Fixed Asset Accountant or similar role.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of standard valuation methods (FIFO, Weighted Average) and tax depreciation rules.
• Software: Hands-on experience with accounting software, ERPs, and MS Excel.
• Attributes: High attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and comfortable meeting strict deadlines.
