Job summary

EduQuest Inc. in Cagayan de Oro City is seeking a supervisory level Instructional Designer to join our Publishing and Curriculum Team, a senior role dedicated to elevating education across the Philippines.

You will lead observation, research, design, and quality assurance of learning materials, ensuring alignment with DepEd K–12 and CHED standards using ADDIE, Backward Design, and Bloom's taxonomy. This role reports to the Publishing & Curriculum Team Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Psychology, Communications, or a related field — Required
• Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or Curriculum Development — Preferred
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., ATD CPTD, Learning & Performance Institute certifications) — An advantage
• Minimum 4 to 6 years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or a closely related role — Required

Responsibilities

• Observe & Research: Study the content team's current practices and identify instructional gaps and improvement opportunities
• Research DepEd K–12 curriculum updates, CHED OBE frameworks, and instructional design best practices
• Prepare observation and research reports with actionable recommendations
• Design Instruction: Develop and maintain instructional frameworks, templates, and design standards for the content team
• Write and review learning objectives aligned with Bloom's Revised Taxonomy and OBE frameworks
• Apply ADDIE and Backward Design to ensure all materials are outcomes-based and pedagogically sound
• Design assessment blueprints aligned with learning objectives
• Quality Assurance: Review all major content outputs against instructional standards before publication
• Establish and enforce curriculum design standards and QA checklists for the team
• Generate improvement reports per publishing cycle based on learner and user feedback
• Team Support: Facilitate capability-building sessions on instructional design principles for the content team
• Provide instructional design coaching and consultation to the content team as needed

What You Will Do

Observe & Research

Minimum Qualifications

Educational Background:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Psychology, Communications, or a related field — Required

• Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or Curriculum Development — Preferred

• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., ATD CPTD, Learning & Performance Institute certifications) — An advantage

Work Experience:

• Minimum 4 to 6 years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or a closely related role — Required

• At least 1 to 2 years in a supervisory, lead, or senior individual contributor capacity — Required

• Prior experience in edtech, educational publishing, K–12, or higher education environment — Preferred

• Familiarity with DepEd-aligned or OBE-based content development — An advantage

Technical Knowledge:

• Mastery of ADDIE and Backward Design — Required

• Strong grasp of Bloom's Revised Taxonomy (Anderson & Krathwohl) for learning objective writing and assessment design — Required

• Knowledge of OBE frameworks aligned with DepEd K–12 and CHED CMO No. 46 — Required

• Familiarity with learner-centered, constructivist, and inquiry-based instructional approaches — Preferred

• Familiarity with SAM (Successive Approximation Model) — An advantage

Core Competencies:

• Instructional Design Expertise — Curriculum architecture, content sequencing, learning objective writing, assessment design

• Analytical Thinking — Gap analysis, QA review, data interpretation, improvement planning

• Communication — Clear instructional writing, stakeholder reporting, feedback delivery

• Collaboration — Cross-functional coordination with Team Leader, area leads, SMEs, and Tech team

• Project Management — Multi-project oversight, timeline awareness, workload coordination

• Attention to Detail — Editorial accuracy, design consistency, brand and standards compliance

Work Setup
