Strategem Ventures Management Inc. is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer, Network (Jr.) to support and maintain our corporate network. The role emphasizes basic routing, switching, firewall management, and gaining hands-on experience in a professional setting.
You will assist in configuring devices, monitoring performance, and ensuring secure connectivity. Collaborating with senior engineers to troubleshoot issues, document configurations, and support security policies is expected.
The Infrastructure Engineer, Network (Jr.) is responsible for supporting and maintaining our network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have foundational knowledge of networking concepts, including routing, switching, and firewalls, with a strong desire to gain hands-on experience in a corporate environment. This role involves network maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring system connectivity and security.
Assist in configuring and maintaining network devices, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
Monitor network performance and ensure reliable connectivity.
Support VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and VPN configurations.
Assist in troubleshooting network issues and escalating complex problems when necessary.
Support the implementation of network security policies, including access controls and firewall rules.
Monitor for security threats and assist in incident response efforts.
Help maintain compliance with IT security standards and best practices.
Provide support for network-related issues.
Diagnose and resolve connectivity problems, working with senior network engineers as needed.
Document troubleshooting processes and network configurations.
Track network performance and generating reports on utilization and potential issues.
Assist in network capacity planning and improvements.
Maintain accurate documentation of network architecture and policies.
Basic understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, subnetting, and routing protocols.
Knowledge of network protocols, VLANs, and TCP/IP configurations.
Familiarity with DHCP, DNS, and firewall policies.
Ability to troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues.
Familiarity with network hardware such as Aruba, F5 or Fortinet devices.
Some experience with configuring firewalls, VPNs, and network security tools.
Knowledge of wireless networking and network monitoring tools.
Experience with basic PowerShell scripting for automation. (preferred).
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
Relevant certifications, such as:
CompTIA Network+
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Aruba Certified Network Technician (ACNT)
Fortinet NSE 4 (preferred)
CompTIA Security+ (preferred)
1-3 years of experience in network administration or IT support.
Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting network devices.
