Job summary

Total Information Management Corp. in Metro Manila is seeking a Network and Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain the organization’s network infrastructure and security systems.

You will configure firewalls, routers, switches, access points, and VPNs to ensure optimal performance and robust protection. Strong CCNA and at least 2 years of experience are required, with knowledge of TCP/IP, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and scripting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of Network and Security Engineer experience.
• CCNA certification required.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
• Understanding of firewall management and IDS/IPS.
• Proficiency in network design and architecture.
• Security technologies: firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, SIEM, anti-malware tools.
• OS familiarity: Linux and Windows.
• Programming/scripting: Python, Bash/PowerShell.
• Cryptography: encryption, hashing, key management.
• Vulnerability management: tools and techniques.
• Incident response: detect, analyze, respond to security incidents.

Responsibilities

A Network and Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the network infrastructure and security systems of an organization/ client. The primary duties include configuring and managing firewalls, routers, switches, AP and other networking equipment to ensure optimal performance and security. They play a critical role in protecting the organization's data and network from unauthorized access, cyber threats, and vulnerabilities by conducting regular security assessments, monitoring network traffic, and implementing security protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Troubleshooting network issues, performing system upgrades, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.


• Collaborate with customer/client to develop and enforce security policies and procedures, manage network access controls, and respond to security incidents.


• Focus on infrastructure of the client and tasked with staying updated on the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies to continuously improve the organization's network security posture.


• Network Design and Implementation: Design, configure, and deploy network infrastructure including firewall, routers, switches, access points, IP phone and other networking devices.


• Plan and implement network upgrades and expansions.


• Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, ECE, Computer Engineering or any related field


• At least 2 years of Network and Security Engineer experience.


• Must have a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification


• Knowledge of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)


• Understanding of firewall management and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS)


• Proficiency in network design and architecture


• Security Technologies: Proficiency with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, SIEM systems, and anti-malware tools.


• Operating Systems: Familiarity with different operating systems, especially Linux and Windows.


• Programming/Scripting: Skills in programming languages (e.g., Python, C, Java) and scripting (e.g., Bash, PowerShell).


• Cryptography: Understanding of encryption, hashing, and key management.


• Vulnerability Management: Experience with vulnerability assessment tools and techniques.


• Incident Response: Ability to detect, analyze, and respond to security incidents effectively.
