The IT Manager is primarily responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of Anko Philippines' IT infrastructure and retail systems. This role directly reports to the Country Manager/CEO.
The role oversees day-to-day IT operations, including store systems (POS, inventory systems), network administration, and user support, while leading a small team of IT associates. The IT Manager also coordinates with global IT teams and external vendors to implement technology solutions that support business growth and operational excellence.
The role serves as the key technology representative in the local market, ensuring alignment between local business requirements and global technology strategies while supporting both Head Office and Store Operations functions.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
1. IT Strategy & Business Partnership
- Collaborate closely with IT teams from Parent Companies to align local systems and participate in global technology initiatives.
- Provide management with current trends, concerns, and activities in the retail industry, particularly in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), to facilitate policy making and strategy formulation.
- Define the Company's Technology Strategic Plan in line with business plans and participate in setting priorities.
- Define the Company's IT performance metrics that are aligned with its goals.
- Support business growth through effective technology planning and implementation.
2. Systems Management & Implementation
- Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies on computer hardware, software applications, and communications in relation to business needs.
- Oversee the implementation of new systems and enhancements to current systems.
- Coordinate with global IT teams for system updates, integrations, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure technology solutions meet both operational and strategic business requirements.
- Support the continuous improvement of retail and Head Office systems.
3. IT Operations & Infrastructure Management
- Supervise and manage IT operations across stores and the Head Office, ensuring system uptime and reliability.
- Provide technical support for store systems including POS and inventory management systems.
- Oversee network administration and infrastructure performance.
- Ensure stable, secure, and efficient IT operations across all locations.
- Manage user support activities and issue resolution processes.
4. Information Security & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies and data protection standards.
- Support the implementation of information security controls and governance practices.
- Monitor technology risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Maintain compliance with Company policies and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Manage vendor relationships for IT equipment, software licensing, and service agreements.
- Coordinate service delivery with external technology providers.
- Ensure cost-effective procurement and management of IT services and assets.
6. Documentation & Governance
- Prepare and maintain documentation for IT processes, assets, and incident reports.
- Ensure technology assets are properly documented and controlled.
- Maintain accurate records relating to systems, infrastructure, and support activities.
- Develop and maintain IT operating procedures and standards.
7. Team Leadership & Capability Development
- Lead, coach, and develop IT associates to enhance technical capabilities and service delivery.
- Provide guidance and support to team members in troubleshooting and issue management.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, customer service, and operational excellence.
- Support capability development to ensure the team remains current with evolving technologies and business requirements.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience managing IT operations within a retail, consumer, or multi-site environment preferred.
- Experience supporting retail technology systems, including POS and inventory platforms.
- Experience implementing technology projects and system upgrades.
- Experience managing vendors and technology service providers.
- Experience leading and developing technical teams.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, hardware, and software applications.
- Strong knowledge of retail systems and technology operations.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
