Job description:
The Importation Management Assistant/Associate plays a vital role in ensuring that all goods are imported efficiently, legally, and cost-effectively. The position demands a high level of accuracy, coordination, and proactive communication to support smooth end-to-end importation operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring that all imports adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and customs requirements. on import/export laws, tariffs, duties, and trade agreements.
- Documentation Management: Handling and processing all required import documentation, including invoices, certificates of origin, and customs declarations. Accuracy and attention to detail are critical to avoid delays
- Customs Clearance: Coordinating with customs brokers or directly managing the customs clearance process imported goods. This may involve communicating with customs authorities, providing necessary documentation, during the clearance process.
- Logistics Coordination: Collaborating with shipping companies, freight forwarders, and other logistics of goods from the point of origin to the final destination. This includes arranging for shipping, tracking shipments,
- Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating risks associated with importing goods, such as customs delays, compliance issues. Developing contingency plans and strategies to address potential risks is essential to ensure
- Vendor Management: Establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, customs brokers, and other importation process.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluating and optimizing importation processes to enhance efficiency, keeping abreast of industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements to drive improvements
- Communication and Coordination: Effectively communicating with internal stakeholders, external partners, alignment and smooth execution of importation activities. This includes providing updates on shipment status, inquiries or concerns.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Customs Administration , Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
- Strong understanding of customs processes, import/export regulations, and documentation requirements
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and Excel - Pivot
- At least 1 year of experience in importation, logistics, or supply chain management
