Oversee the full importation process from shipment planning to final release and delivery
Ensure timely customs clearance and port release of imported goods
Manage import flow to minimize port congestion, ageing, demurrage, and detention
Ensure compliance with customs laws, regulations, and government agency requirements (NMIS, BPI, BAI and others)
Oversee tariff classification, customs valuation, and correct declaration of goods
Ensure proper application of Free Trade Agreements (FTA) and preferential duty claims for those applicable country
Manage and evaluate customs brokers, freight forwarders, and transport providers
Act as the escalation point for customs and regulatory issuesLead, coach, and develop import operations, brokerage, and customer service teams
Ensure clear role definitions, accountability, and performance management of each staff
Build succession and capability within the import organization
Coordinate closely with merchandising/fulfillment, DC and accounting teams
Provide timely shipment status updates to management
Perform any other task that may be assigned from time to time in relation to imported shipments
Job Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Customs Administration, International Trade, Business Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Licensed Customs Broker is an advantage (if applicable).
Work Experience
At least 5 years of experience in import operations, customs clearance, or international logistics.
Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role handling import documentation, compliance, and coordination with brokers and forwarders.
