Job summary

Aprio, a Top 20 CPA and advisory firm, seeks an experienced accounting professional to handle 1099 tasks and general accounting for multiple US-based clients. You will work with leading software like QuickBooks Online, Xero, and NetSuite, delivering accurate work papers, reconciliations, and financial statements while managing deadlines.

The role requires 3+ years of accounting experience, CPA eligibility preferred, and a hybrid work setup with opportunities for growth and professional

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• CPA license or eligibility is an advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a BPO/outsourcing environment.
• 1099 preparation and filing experience is required.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online, Xero, and any 1099 software is required.
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including reconciliations and financial statements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to develop formulas to support accounting and review processes.
• Ability to manage multiple clients, deadlines, and shifting priorities independently and effectively.
• Able to work on a hybrid work setup.

Responsibilities

• 1099 tasks including review of vendor and ledger activity and update in QuickBooks Online, Xero, or NetSuite.
• Communicate with clients and vendors to obtain W-9s and resolve questions.
• Assist with 1099 filing using Avalara Track 1099 and related matters.
• Maintain accurate 1099 work papers while managing multiple clients.
• Perform day-to-day bookkeeping including AP/AR and reconciliations.
• Process bills via Bill.com and Dext with correct GL coding and approvals.
• Record payroll entries and assist with monthly/quarterly closing and flux analysis.
• Support accountants and clients with accounting requests and issue resolution.
• Maintain process documentation and suggest improvements.
• Manage multiple clients and priorities with timeliness and quality.
