Job description

Are you passionate about developing people, building impactful training programs, and shaping the future of learning in a growing organisation? As the HR Training Manager, you’ll own and lead the PWS Academy, transforming it into a structured, scalable learning capability. You’ll set the Academy’s strategy, build and curate training programs, manage external training partners, and personally facilitate a significant share of onboarding, compliance, soft-skills, role-specific, and professional development programs. This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong focus on training strategy, program design, facilitation, onboarding, OJT, and continuous improvement. You’ll also help PWS stay ahead of emerging trends, particularly AI, by using AI tools to develop training content efficiently and facilitating AI-focused communities of interest.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Education, Organisational Development, Business Administration, or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in Training & Development, including training design and facilitation
• Proven experience developing, coordinating, and delivering structured training programs
• Strong stand-up facilitation, presentation, and communication skills
• Experience designing onboarding, compliance, soft-skills, or role-specific training programs
• Working knowledge of instructional design principles
• Experience managing or coordinating training vendors, content providers, and external learning resources
• Strong ability to balance externally sourced and internally developed training content
• Forward-thinking approach to AI, with practical experience using AI tools for content development
• Comfortable facilitating AI-focused communities of interest and keeping up with emerging AI developments
• Experience with LMS and HRIS platforms, such as Sprout
• Strong organisation and time management across training calendars, programs, vendors, and employee records
• Some people-leadership experience or clear readiness to build and lead a small training team
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to track training completion, feedback, costs, and program effectiveness
• Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a role that will evolve as the Academy grows
• Teaching or train-the-trainer experience is a plus but not required
• Basic understanding of labour law concepts related to training bonds is advantageous

Key Responsibilities

• Own the PWS Academy strategy, structure, branding, calendar, and development roadmap
• Design and deliver onboarding, compliance, soft-skills, role-specific, and professional development programs
• Own the company-wide new-hire onboarding program and continuously improve the first-90-days experience
• Develop training content with Department Leaders and subject matter experts using sound instructional design principles
• Manage the build-versus-buy approach for training content and oversee external training partners and budgets
• Use AI tools to efficiently create, update, and improve training content
• Lead lunch and learns, communities of interest, and AI-focused learning initiatives
• Own the end-to-end OJT program, including school coordination, documentation, escalation, and university partnerships
• Coordinate training bond requirements with Account Managers and the Head of People
• Maintain training calendars, employee training records, and Academy documentation
• Gather and analyse participant, department, client, and school feedback to improve programs
• Track Academy metrics including completion, feedback, training costs, and OJT-to-employment conversion
• Provide regular Academy performance and impact updates to the Head of People and leadership
• Build and lead Training Administrator(s) as the Academy grows, progressively delegating operational responsibilities
