Job summary

evoke is seeking a People Operations & Payroll Specialist to oversee end-to-end payroll processing, administer benefits, and maintain HRIS data accuracy. The role supports onboarding, offboarding, and employee inquiries while collaborating with Finance to ensure seamless service delivery.

The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years in Payroll Administration or People Operations, with strong knowledge of payroll processes, government contributions, and data confidentiality.

Are you a detail-oriented HR professional with strong payroll experience and a passion for delivering exceptional employee support? We are looking for a People Operations & Payroll Specialist to play a critical role in ensuring accurate payroll administration while supporting key HR operations across the employee lifecycle.

What you will be doing:

• Own and execute end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
• Administer employee benefits, government-mandated contributions, and payroll-related transactions.
• Maintain employee records and data integrity within the HRIS.
• Support onboarding, employee movements, and offboarding processes.
• Respond to employee inquiries and provide first-line support for payroll, benefits, HRIS, and HR administration matters.
• Manage People Operations tickets and service requests within established service levels.
• Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, audits, and compliance-related documentation.
• Collaborate with Finance and other stakeholders to ensure smooth People Operations service delivery.

Who we are looking for:

• 3 to 5 years of experience in Payroll Administration, HR Operations, Shared Services, or People Operations.
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, statutory compliance, taxes, and government contributions.
• Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms and employee data management.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong customer service mindset with the ability to handle employee inquiries professionally.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high levels of accuracy and confidentiality.
