Beauty 100 (S) International Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking an experienced HR Manager who can build teams, recruit top talent and raise performance culture as the company grows.
You will work closely with senior management on manpower planning, employee relations, policy development and organisational culture while overseeing administrative HR work as needed.
Beauty 100 is looking for an experienced, practical and people-savvy HR Manager to join our growing team.
This is not a role where you simply maintain policies, process leave applications and organise the occasional staff activity.
We are looking for someone who can build teams, recruit strong people, manage challenging employees, advise Management confidently, resolve problems quickly and help create a high-performance culture as the company continues to grow.
You will work closely with senior management and play an important role in shaping our people strategy, recruitment, employee relations, performance management and organisational culture.
At the same time, we are a growing business, so everyone occasionally rolls up their sleeves. Administrative and operational HR work will form part of the role as and when required.
Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, confirmation, performance management, promotions, transfers, disciplinary matters and offboarding
Lead recruitment and talent acquisition across different departments and seniority levels
Proactively headhunt suitable candidates rather than relying solely on incoming job applications
Conduct candidate screening, interviews, reference checks and employment negotiations
Handle salary negotiations, employment offers and remuneration discussions while balancing candidate expectations with company budgets and internal salary structures
Develop recruitment strategies to attract strong candidates in a competitive employment market
Build and maintain relationships with recruitment agencies, headhunters, job platforms and other talent sources
Manage challenging or sensitive employee situations professionally, including:
Poor performance
Misconduct
Attendance issues
Workplace conflicts
Grievances
Disciplinary cases
Termination and exit matters
Be comfortable dealing with difficult staff and difficult conversations while remaining professional, fair and compliant
Conduct investigations and disciplinary processes where required, ensuring proper documentation and procedural fairness
Develop, implement and continuously improve HR policies, SOPs, employment practices and internal processes
Ensure HR policies support both employee wellbeing and the commercial needs of the organisation
Advise senior management on manpower planning, organisational structure, succession planning and workforce strategy
Support managers in developing stronger teams and improving employee performance
Establish and monitor KPI, performance review and appraisal frameworks
Identify high-performing employees and support career development and succession planning
Coordinate training and development programmes to improve employee capabilities
Oversee compensation and benefits administration, payroll coordination, incentives and employee benefit programmes
Ensure compliance with Singapore employment legislation, MOM requirements and relevant statutory obligations
Maintain accurate employee records, employment contracts, HR documentation and HR systems
Monitor HR metrics including recruitment, turnover, retention, attendance and manpower costs
Prepare HR reports and recommendations for Management
Promote a positive, respectful and high-performance workplace culture
Support employee engagement initiatives and internal communication
Liaise with government authorities, recruitment agencies, legal advisors, payroll providers and other external stakeholders when required
Assist with administrative work, documentation and operational matters as and when required
Take ownership of HR problems and follow them through to resolution rather than simply escalating them
We are looking for someone who is experienced enough to know that HR is ultimately about people, judgement and business, not simply forms and policies.
Ideally, you will have:
Minimum 5–7 years of HR experience, preferably including HR management or senior HR responsibilities
Strong knowledge of Singapore employment laws, MOM regulations and HR compliance requirements
Strong experience in recruitment, headhunting and talent acquisition
Proven ability to recruit across junior, managerial and specialist positions
Confidence in conducting interviews and assessing both competency and cultural fit
Experience negotiating salaries, employment terms and job offers
Strong experience managing employee relations, grievances, disciplinary matters and performance issues
Experience handling difficult employees, sensitive conversations and workplace conflicts
Ability to remain calm, objective and professional when dealing with challenging situations
Strong understanding of performance management, KPI structures and employee development
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Confidence communicating with both frontline employees and senior management
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Good commercial judgement and an understanding that HR decisions ultimately affect business performance
A proactive mindset. We value people who identify problems and propose solutions instead of waiting to be instructed
Strong documentation and administrative discipline
Proficiency in HR systems, Microsoft Office and common workplace productivity tools
Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline, or relevant professional qualifications such as SHRM, CIPD or equivalent
Experience within the beauty, wellness, retail, service or consumer industries will be a HUGE advantage.
Able to commit 5 week-days weekly 10AM - 7PM.
You will probably enjoy this role if you are someone who:
Enjoys building teams and finding good people
Can spot talent beyond what is written on a CV
Isn't afraid of having difficult conversations
Can balance empathy with accountability
Understands when to coach, when to warn and when action needs to be taken
Is comfortable challenging Management professionally when necessary
Can move between strategic HR discussions and practical day-to-day execution
Likes creating structure where processes can be improved
Takes ownership instead of saying, "That's not under HR"
Understands that good HR protects both the employee and the company
Competitive salary package based on experience and capabilities
Annual incentive trip (we have travelled to Seoul, Jeju, Busan, Tokyo!)
Opportunity to work directly with senior management
Significant involvement in shaping the company's HR structure and culture
Career progression within a growing organisation
Professional development and training opportunities
Employee wellness programmes and benefits
A collaborative working environment
The opportunity to build HR systems and processes rather than simply maintain what already exists
