About the role
The Human Resources Manager will oversee the overall HR operations of the company, ensuring that all human resource practices, employee relations, labor relations, payroll, benefits, recruitment, engagement, and compliance requirements are properly managed. The HR Manager will work closely with the Owner and management team in addressing people-related concerns, maintaining harmonious labor-management relations, ensuring compliance with Philippine labor laws, and implementing HR programs that support the company's operational and business objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department
- Act as the primary HR adviser to the Owner and management on employee, manpower, labor, and organizational concerns
- Develop, implement, and improve HR policies, procedures, systems, and programs aligned with company objectives
- Maintain a professional, respectful, and productive relationship with the company's union and its representatives
- Serve as the company's key HR representative in union-related matters, grievances, consultations, and labor-management discussions
- Ensure compliance with the Philippine Labor Code, DOLE regulations, and other applicable employment laws and government requirements
- Handle employee complaints, grievances, workplace conflicts, and other employee relations concerns
- Oversee the preparation and timely processing of monthly or semi-monthly payroll
- Oversee recruitment, selection, hiring, and onboarding of employees
- Develop and implement employee engagement and retention programs
About you
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, Management, Labor Relations, or a related field
- At least 5–10 years of extensive HR experience, preferably with progressive experience in a managerial or supervisory HR role
- Strong and extensive background in DOLE and labor law compliance
- Strong and extensive background in union and labor relations
- Strong and extensive background in CBA administration
- Strong and extensive background in employee relations and grievance handling
- Strong and extensive background in payroll and compensation & benefits
- Strong communication, negotiation, conflict-resolution, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and preferably experienced with HRIS and payroll systems
