• Follows food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety.
• Assists cooks and dietitians in preparing meals according to dietary requirements for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Helps with assembling meal trays following portion control and special dietary needs requirements set by the Nutritionist Dietitian.
• Delivers prepared food trays to patient wards, adhering to hospital schedules.
• Ensures that meals are delivered in a timely and organized manner.
• Collects food trays after meals.
• Ensures proper storage of food items to avoid waste and spoilage.
• Stores and labels food items according to expiration dates.
• Cleans and sanitizes pots, pans, utensils, and other minor equipment routinely used in the kitchen following established procedures.
• Cleans and sanitizes dishes and related service ware following established procedures.
• Keeps the kitchen clean, well maintained, and organized at all times.
• Maintains dry and clean floors at all times.
• Performs general cleaning as directed, including sweeping, mopping, washing, and waste disposal.
• Washes and sanitizes kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes.
• Disposes of waste and recyclables following hospital and health guidelines.
• Keeps waste bin areas clean and tidy.
• Ensures all equipment is clean and in good working condition.

Administrative Tasks

• Checks inventory of food and non-food supplies and requests replenishment when needed.
• Removes broken items from circulation, reports to Immediate Head, and updates the breakage/inventory register.
• Documents and reports leftovers to the immediate supervisor for proper disposal.

Professional Growth and Character Development

• Promotes teamwork and collaboration within the department to foster a harmonious working environment.
• Maintains commitment to professional growth by attending seminars, training, and programs to improve patient services.
• Complies with institutional policy and guidelines on seminars/trainings facilitated by government agencies relevant to safe and quality patient care.

Other Pertinent Functions and Tasks

• Participates in hospital activities and programs.
• Complies with hospital policies and procedures (refer to Employee Handbook).
