Responsibilities
Hemodialysis Nurses provides specialized care to patients with kidney failure, managing their dialysis treatments, monitoring their health, and educating them about their condition.
- Assist patients with kidney failure through hemodialysis treatment.
- Initiate, monitor, and terminate hemodialysis treatment.
- Work closely with other medical staff to ensure patient safety during hemodialysis treatment.
- Refer any concerns, complications, laboratory values to the In-house Physician/Attending Nephrologist.
- Discuss patient’s concerns and provide health teachings to patients.
- Verify that patients are taking all prescribed medications, advising doctors of any significant change in patient’s health.
- Review patient’s laboratory schedules (Routine laboratories and hepatitis profile) and remind them for the next due schedule.
- Supervise patient care.
- Act as a role model by providing nursing care using nursing skills and nursing processes.
- Collaborate with the Head Nurse and In-house physicians regarding patient care management.
- Monitor clinical supplies.
