Job summary

Manila North Harbour Port, Inc. seeks a seasoned HSE leader to own the safety culture and drive terminal health, safety, and environmental performance.

You will lead campaigns, set strategy with senior management, and ensure training for staff and contractors, while coordinating with government agencies on inspections and investigations. Qualifications include a DOLE SO4, PCO accreditation, and multiple ISO auditor credentials, with a minimum of five years in safety management in port/terminal

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental management, engineering, maritime/port operations, or related discipline.
• A master’s degree is an advantage.
• DOLE accredited Safety practitioner or SO4 certification.
• PCO accreditation or clear eligibility to obtain it.
• ISO 45001 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification — strongly preferred.
• ISO 14001 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification — strongly preferred.
• High-risk operational training, Environmental compliance training.
• Minimum five years in management, specifically in safety management.
• Experience in Port terminal management/operations is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Owns the safety culture and performance of the terminal, adhering to and enforcing all HSE policies and procedures in alignment with Northport's values.
• Leads and is accountable for the outcomes of HSE campaigns and improvement programs — not just their rollout.
• Sets the Terminal Safety and Environment strategy, in consultation with the senior management team and workforce, in consonance with the Company's Vision and Mission.
• Safety and Environment training/orientation for employees and contractors.
• Conducts safety inspection and environment audit within the Company areas of responsibility.
• Holds department heads accountable for compliance in the operation and maintenance of safety equipment and pollution control devices in their areas.
• Develops and maintains detailed and efficient accident system records, conducts investigations, coordinates with department heads on action to eliminate accident root causes.
• Provides assistance to government agencies in the conduct of safety and environment inspections, accident investigations, and related activities, ensuring timely closure of action items.
• Actively engage with the workforce, unions and other managers, building good working relationships that drives a positive safety reporting and

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental management, engineering, maritime/port operations, or a related discipline. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is an advantage.

• DOLE accredited Safety practitioner or Safety Officer 4 (SO4) certification.

• Pollution Control Officer (PCO) accreditation or clear eligibility to obtain it

• ISO 45001 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification — strongly preferred.

• ISO 14001 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification — strongly preferred.

• High-risk operational training, Environmental compliance training
