SteelAsia Manufacturing Corporation seeks an experienced ESH leader to oversee the implementation of the company's Environment, Safety and Health programs, ensuring compliance with local regulations and management system requirements.
You will supervise Safety Officers, Pollution Control Officer, and Occupational Health Nurse in driving regulatory compliance, incident prevention, environmental protection, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsible for leading and supervising the implementation of the company's Environment, Safety and Health (ESH) programs to ensure compliance with applicable environmental, occupational safety and health regulations, company policies, and management system requirements. Oversees the Safety Officers, Pollution Control Officer, and Occupational Health Nurse in driving regulatory compliance, incident prevention, environmental protection, emergency preparedness, and continuous improvement initiatives. Supports sustainability and ESG objectives by promoting a strong culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence while safeguarding the organization's people, assets, reputation, and business continuity.
Ensure continuous certification and compliance with management system standards: ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental), ISO 45001 / OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health & Safety), UKCARES, and ISO 17025 (Testing and Calibration Laboratories)
Supervise department personnel in implementing management systems at both newly acquired and existing operational sites
Assure plant site compliance with certification requirements and recommend corrective and preventive improvements
Assist the Management Representative (Admin Manager) during all external audits conducted by certification bodies
Ensure compliance with national and local environmental, safety, and labor regulations, including DENR, DOLE, LGUs, BFP, and NWRB requirements
Ensure the timely submission of all DENR and DOLE reportorial requirements, such as SMR, CMR, WAIR, and Annual Environmental Reports
Implement, monitor, and continuously improve Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs aligned with Philippine laws and company policies
Guide and supervise Safety Officers, Occupational Health Officers, and Pollution Control Officers (PCOs) in fulfilling their regulatory duties
Review and analyze safety statistics, incidents, near-misses, and performance indicators to identify trends and recommend interventions
Supervise and mentor ESH and ESG personnel, ensuring competency development, accountability, and effective performance
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, Nursing, or other related discipline
College graduate with Professional license
Accredited Safety Practitioner / Safety Officer 3 or 4 under DOLE
Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in Environment, Safety and Health within a manufacturing, industrial or heavy engineering environment
At least 3 years in a supervisory capacity leading ESH personnel
Demonstrated experience in ISO management systems, regulatory compliance, government liaison, incident investigation and audit coordination
Certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 is preferred
Certified Pollution Control Officer (PCO) under DENR preferred
