What can you tell your friends when they ask what you do?
I run the room where DAVI decides what actually gets done. Every team has ideas, every partner has requests, and every Big Rock needs someone to hold the full picture -- what we're building, why we're building it, in what order, and whether it's actually moving the business forward. That's my job. I sit at the intersection of strategy and execution, translating the company's ambitions into a funded, sequenced, and accountable portfolio of projects - and making sure leadership always has a clear, honest view of what's in flight, what's at risk, and what should stop. In a company redesigning itself from a loyalty program into a digital ecosystem, I'm the one making sure we're building the right things, not just building things right.
Responsibilities – How will you do this?
Project Management Strategy and Prioritization
- Own company-wide project management practices: define the framework for how projects are proposed, evaluated, prioritized, and approved across all functions
- Lead the annual and quarterly project planning process in partnership with the CEO and CCO, translating strategic priorities into a funded, sequenced roadmap
- Maintain a single, authoritative view of all active, queued, and deferred projects across DAVI including their strategic rationale, resource requirements, dependencies, and expected business outcomes
Business Case Development and Investment Governance
- Set and enforce the standard for how business cases are built across DAVI including financial modeling, ROI framing, risk assessment, and resource requirements
- Challenge and stress-test initiative proposals before they reach leadership for approval, ensuring decisions are made on evidence, not advocacy
- Track post-implementation value realization against approved business cases and escape where outcomes diverge materially from projections
Cross-Functional Coordination and Dependency Management
- Identify and actively manage cross-functional dependencies across initiatives, surfacing conflicts, sequencing risks, and resource constraints before they become delivery problems
- Facilitate project portfolio-level alignment across function heads, ensuring initiative owners understand their interdependencies and shared accountability for outcomes
- Serve as the connective tissue between strategy formulation at leadership level and execution at the functional level
Portfolio Reporting and Leadership Visibility
- Design and maintain project portfolio dashboards and reporting rhythms that give leadership a real-time, accurate view of initiative health, milestone progress, and risk status
- Prepare portfolio review materials for the CEO, CCO, and ExCom, structured for decision-making, not just status updates
- Escalate risks and trade-offs proactively, with a clear recommendation, not just a problem statement
Business Analysis and Requirements Governance
- Direct the Business Analyst under this role in producing structured requirements documentation, initiative scoping, and feasibility assessments that meet DAVI's standard for handoff to enabling functions
- Establish and govern the requirements quality bar across the organization, ensuring that initiatives arriving at Product, Technology, and Data teams are sufficiently specified before resources are committed
- Own the process by which business intent is translated into actionable, cross-functional requirements
Continuous Improvement and PMO Capability Building
- Build and evolve the PMO's tools, templates, and processes to match the organization's growing portfolio complexity as coalition expansion and platform migration accelerate
- Identify patterns of project underperformance - recurring delays, scope drift, weak business cases - and drive systemic fixes, not one-off interventions
- Champion a project management culture where initiative ownership, accountability, and outcome orientation are the norm, not the exception
To be successful, you’ll need
- 8 to 12+ years of experience in project management, strategy execution, business planning, or a chief of staff function with a track record of managing a complex, multi-project portfolio in a fast-moving organization.
- Strong business case and financial modeling capability: able to build, review, and challenge an investment case independently, and hold initiative owners accountable to the assumptions they committed to.
- Experience designing and running project governance frameworks including prioritization methodologies, stage-gate processes, and portfolio reviews.
- Demonstrated ability to work at the leadership level: comfortable presenting trade-offs and recommendations to a CEO, facilitating difficult prioritization conversations, and influencing senior stakeholders without direct authority.
- Strong cross-functional coordination instincts: able to identify dependency risks, manage competing priorities across functions, and keep multiple complex projects moving without becoming a bottleneck
- High analytical and structured thinking ability: able to synthesize large amounts of information into a clear portfolio view and communicate it in a way that drives decisions.
- Familiarity with the loyalty, digital, or technology-driven business environment is a strong advantage, particularly understanding how product, technology, data, and commercial functions interact in a platform migration and coalition expansion context.
