• Champion Filipino craftsmanship while improving efficiency and scalability.
• Collaborate with merchandising, sales, and marketing to ensure strong product-market fit.
• Build, mentor, and structure the design team with clear workflows and accountability.
• Align showrooms, campaigns, and client touchpoints through cross-functional collaboration.

Job description

Duties and Responsibilities:

Creative Direction & Design Language

• Define and evolve Philux’s design identity across all collections
• Translate brand values—family, quality, growth—into tangible design outcomes
• Ensure consistency across furniture, accessories, and future product categories
• Lead seasonal and core collection development

Product Development & Innovation

• Oversee end-to-end product design: concept → prototyping → final production
• Balance aesthetics with manufacturability, cost targets, and timelines
• Introduce new materials, techniques, and typologies aligned with conscious craft
• Ensure designs are built for longevity and relevance

Craft & Workshop Integration

• Work closely with the workshop team to align design intent with execution
• Champion Filipino craftsmanship while improving efficiency and scalability
• Refine details, joinery, and finishing standards
• Uphold quality benchmarks across all outputs

Commercial Alignment

• Collaborate with merchandising and sales to ensure strong product-market fit
• Align collections with pricing strategy, margin targets, and inventory goals
• Review product performance and iterate based on sales data and client feedback

Team Leadership & Structure

• Build, mentor, and manage the design team (industrial designers, CAD, product developers)
• Establish clear workflows, timelines, and accountability
• Foster a culture of ownership, curiosity, and excellence

Brand & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with marketing on campaigns, launches, and storytelling
• Support special projects (hospitality, export, collaborations)
• Ensure design coherence across showrooms and client-facing touchpoints

Other Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as may be assigned by Management
• Participate actively in weekly and monthly management meetings, project reviews, and walkthroughs
• Attend relevant leadership, technical, and professional development programs
• Support strategic business initiatives requiring design leadership and executive collaboration
