Job summary

It Tastes GUTZ Coffee is seeking a hands-on Head Barista / Store Supervisor to own day-to-day café operations while actively working behind the bar. You will lead a small team, ensure beverage quality, manage inventory, POS and cash handling, and uphold store standards.

Based at Riverbanks Center, Marikina City, the role requires 2–3 years of barista experience, strong espresso skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to train staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of professional barista experience.
• Strong knowledge of espresso preparation, coffee extraction, milk steaming and beverage preparation.
• Excellent customer service and hospitality skills.
• Experience supervising, coaching, or training café staff.

About the role

It Tastes GUTZ Coffee is seeking a hands‑on and experienced Head Barista / Store Supervisor who will take ownership of the day‑to‑day operations of the café while also actively working behind the bar. This position combines the responsibilities of a Head Barista, Store Supervisor, and Customer Experience Lead. The successful candidate should be passionate about coffee and hospitality, capable of leading a small team, and comfortable managing store operations including beverage quality, inventory, POS and cash handling, staff performance, customer service, and store standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the overall day‑to‑day operations of the café

• Lead opening and closing procedures and ensure that operational checklists are completed

• Prepare espresso‑based coffee, non‑coffee beverages, and other menu items according to company standards

• Perform espresso calibration and maintain consistency in extraction, milk texture, temperature, taste, and presentation

• Assist in developing new coffee and non‑coffee beverages and create and test seasonal and signature drink concepts

• Lead, coach, and supervise baristas and café staff during shifts

• Train new employees on beverage preparation, customer service, food safety, POS procedures, and café standards

• Maintain a welcoming and professional customer experience and handle complaints or service recovery professionally

• Monitor daily inventory and product availability, conduct regular stock counts, and coordinate stock replenishment

• Operate and supervise the proper use of the POS system, monitor cash and digital payments, and complete daily sales and cash reconciliation

About you

• Minimum 2–3 years of professional barista experience

• Strong knowledge of espresso preparation, coffee extraction, milk steaming, calibration, and beverage preparation

• Strong customer service and hospitality skills

• Experience supervising, coaching, or training café staff

• Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, inventory management, and basic store reporting

• Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of store operations

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays when required
