Job summary

RemotePeople is supporting a fast-growing Canadian HealthTech company in the search for a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead their engineering team. This role balances coding and people leadership, with roughly 50% hands-on engineering and 50% team management.

You will own sprint execution, architecture, DevOps, reliability and security, and collaborate with Product, Sales and Customer Success to translate technical decisions into business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience writing production code.
• Experience with software architecture and technical decision-making.
• Leadership experience as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or Team Lead.
• Experience coaching and mentoring engineers.
• Strong understanding of agile product delivery.
• Experience in a startup or fast-moving technology environment.

Responsibilities

• Write, review and ship production code.
• Shape technical architecture and engineering decisions.
• Lead, coach and develop the software engineering team.
• Own sprint execution, agile delivery and roadmap planning.
• Maintain high standards around DevOps, CI/CD, reliability, privacy and security.
• Work closely with Product, Sales, Customer Success and other stakeholders.
• Support hiring and development of the engineering team.
• Translate technical decisions into clear business outcomes.
