Job summary

SearchApi is seeking an engineering manager to own delivery end-to-end so the founder can step out of the day-to-day loop. You’ll run cadences, track active projects, surface risk early, and be the first escalation point when something breaks.

You will lead through clear writing and strong decisions, creating Managers of One. You will live in GitHub and Notion, documenting plans and decisions, and you’ll use AI to run lighter, faster processes while avoiding overreliance.

Qualifications

• Shipped delivery improvements with measurable impact.
• Experience leading small engineering teams or managers.
• Proven ability to write clear, actionable docs and plans.

Responsibilities

• Run cadences: planning, standups, retrospectives.
• Track state of active projects and surface risks early.
• Own delivery metrics (cycle time, latency, reliability) and drive improvements.
• Coordinate incidents and conduct blameless RCAs that change outcomes.
• Grow the team with structured coaching and hiring pipelines.
