Job summary

HRTx Inc is seeking a Software Engineering Manager in Makati City (Onsite) to lead engineering teams while staying hands-on in software development. You will mentor engineers, drive scalable system design, and partner with product and business leaders to deliver high‑quality solutions.

The role demands strong backend expertise (Java, Golang, Node.js, Scala) and a proven ability to shape technical roadmaps in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a Software Engineering Manager, Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or similar leadership role.
• Strong hands-on experience in backend development using Java, Golang, Node.js, Scala, or other object‑oriented/open-source technologies.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, or JavaScript is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, including MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern containerized application environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI, or similar.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and service‑oriented architecture.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse management, procurement, or inventory systems is an advantage but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor one or more software engineering teams, providing technical guidance, coaching, and performance support.
• Design and develop scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions aligned with business requirements.
• Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, and technology leaders to define technical roadmaps and delivery priorities.
• Participate in architecture discussions and make key technical decisions for complex systems and applications.
• Write code, perform code reviews, and ensure adherence to engineering standards and best practices.
• Support Agile development processes, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, and release planning.
• Drive continuous improvement in software quality, development processes, automation, and deployment practices.
• Work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
• Encourage innovation and foster a collaborative, high‑performing engineering culture.
