Job summary

Deel is seeking an Operations Manager to own automation initiatives across our global payroll processes, focusing on building and testing AI-powered workflows using Akai. You will manage end-to-end projects across multiple streams, identify gaps, and develop dashboards to surface insights for leadership.

You'll collaborate with engineering, product, and ops teams across 90+ countries, moving fast, escalating blockers, and redesigning processes from scratch when needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in operations, fast-paced environment (Tech/FinTech a plus).
• Comfortable building with AI tools and troubleshooting workflows, not just using AI.
• Engineering background or equivalent technical exposure (CS degree/bootcamp).
• Experience mentoring small to mid-size teams.
• KPI-driven with data-driven mindset and performance tracking.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operational workflows and identify efficiency improvements.
• Support automation initiatives to reduce manual processes and improve accuracy and speed.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline tools and processes for internal teams and customers.
• Ensure adherence to operational controls, compliance requirements, and risk management.
• Drive customer-focused process improvements to enhance turnaround times and quality.
