Job summary

Deel is seeking a technical leader to coordinate and lead a dynamic team supporting internal tools and automation solutions. In this hands-on role, you will drive technical excellence while collaborating with business stakeholders to deliver scalable automation solutions that enhance operational efficiency across departments.

You will lead engineers in developing reliable, scalable systems and integrations, while contributing to AI initiatives and maintaining clear technical documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software development or automation engineering roles.
• 3+ years of proven leadership or team coordination experience.
• Strong proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Go).
• Experience with API development, integrations, or workflow automation.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud or Azure).

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day work of a technical team delivering internal tools and automation solutions.
• Act as a hands-on contributor while mentoring team members.
• Support and maintain system integrations across Zendesk, Jira, and other platforms.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver practical automation.
• Contribute to AI initiatives and drive workflow enhancements.
• Promote technical best practices and documentation standards.
• Participate in architecture planning and build-vs-buy decisions.
• Monitor performance and optimize applications and automations.
• Collaborate with IT, Security, and Procurement on vendor tools and standards.
