Arconic Inc. is seeking a Geodetic Engineer in the Philippines to plan, supervise, and verify surveying activities for townhouse and subdivision projects. The role focuses on accuracy of property boundaries, elevations, and site layouts to support land development and construction.
The candidate should have strong technical knowledge in surveying instruments, construction layout, and residential land development, with hands‑on experience in Total Station, GNSS, and AutoCAD tools.
The Geodetic Engineer is responsible for the planning, execution, supervision, and verification of all surveying and geodetic activities for townhouse, subdivision, and residential development projects.
The position ensures the accuracy of property boundaries, coordinates, elevations, construction layouts, road alignments, lot boundaries, utilities, and other survey requirements necessary for the proper planning and implementation of land development and construction projects.
The Geodetic Engineer must have strong technical knowledge and hands‑on experience in surveying, surveying instruments, construction layout, and residential land development.
Conduct and supervise land, topographic, boundary, construction, relocation, subdivision, and as-built surveys.
Establish and verify horizontal and vertical control points, benchmarks, coordinates, and reference monuments.
Conduct accurate measurement and verification of property boundaries, lot corners, road alignments, elevations, and other survey requirements.
Prepare and maintain survey records, field notes, computations, coordinates, and other technical documentation.
Analyze survey data and identify discrepancies between existing site conditions and approved plans.
Ensure the accuracy and reliability of all survey measurements and data used for project implementation.
Conduct verification surveys and establish reference points required for construction activities.
Prepare and review survey plans, technical drawings, survey reports, and as-built survey documentation.
Demonstrate strong knowledge and hands‑on proficiency in the use of Total Station, GNSS/GPS Survey Equipment, Auto Level/-Digital Level, Theodolite, and other surveying instruments.
Properly set up, operate, check, and maintain surveying instruments and equipment.
Perform basic checking and troubleshooting of surveying equipment to ensure accurate measurements.
Ensure that surveying instruments are properly calibrated and maintained.
Monitor the condition of survey equipment and recommend repair, calibration, or replacement when necessary.
Ensure proper storage, handling, security, and inventory of all surveying instruments and accessories.
Train and provide technical guidance to Instrument Men, Survey Aides, and other field personnel in the proper use of surveying equipment.
Provide technical surveying support for townhouse, subdivision, horizontal development, and residential housing projects.
Establish and verify lot boundaries, property lines, building lines, setbacks, road alignments, and other site development requirements.
Conduct construction layout for townhouse units, residential buildings, roads, curbs, sidewalks, drainage systems, utilities, amenities, and other development components.
Establish building grids, centerlines, reference points, elevations, and benchmarks required for construction.
Verify lot dimensions, road widths, elevations, grades, and other requirements based on approved subdivision and development plans.
Conduct surveys for site grading, earthworks, roadworks, drainage, utilities, and other horizontal development activities.
Conduct as-built surveys to verify completed works against approved plans and designs.
Coordinate with Civil Engineers, Site Engineers, Architects, Contractors, and other project personnel regarding survey requirements.
Provide technical recommendations regarding survey discrepancies, boundary concerns, elevation issues, and construction alignment problems.
Ensure that survey activities support accurate and efficient project implementation and minimize construction errors and rework.
Establish and maintain survey control points throughout the project.
Perform regular verification of construction lines, elevations, grades, and alignments.
Monitor the accuracy of contractor survey works and construction layout.
Conduct verification surveys prior to critical construction activities.
Immediately report survey discrepancies or deviations from approved plans to the Project Manager or appropriate engineer.
Assist in resolving technical survey issues encountered during construction.
Ensure that all survey activities are properly documented and coordinated with the project schedule.
Review architectural, civil, structural, subdivision, and site development plans as they relate to survey requirements.
Prepare survey computations, technical reports, sketches, plans, and other required documents.
Maintain updated records of coordinates, benchmarks, monuments, control points, and survey references.
Review and validate survey data submitted by contractors and subcontractors.
Participate in technical and project coordination meetings.
Coordinate with government agencies, utility providers, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders when required.
Assist in documentation required for subdivision development, property surveys, permits, approvals, and project turnover.
Bachelor's Degree in Geodetic Engineering.
Must be a Licensed Geodetic Engineer.
Must have a valid Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) license.
Preferably 3–5 years of relevant experience in surveying, construction, land development, or property development.
Experience in townhouse, subdivision, horizontal development, or residential housing projects is highly preferred.
Experience in construction layout, site development, and land surveying is required.
Experience supervising Instrument Men and Survey Aides is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of surveying and geodetic engineering principles.
Strong hands‑on knowledge of surveying instruments and equipment.
Proficient in the operation of:
Knowledge of construction surveying and site layout.
Knowledge of topographic, boundary, relocation, subdivision, and as-built surveys.
Knowledge of horizontal and vertical control systems.
Knowledge of coordinates, elevations, benchmarks, traversing, leveling, and survey computations.
Ability to read and interpret subdivision plans, site development plans, engineering plans, architectural drawings, and construction plans.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant surveying/data-processing software.
Knowledge of townhouse and subdivision development processes.
