Abenson Ventures, Inc. is seeking an experienced General Manager - Solar Projects to lead our solar energy initiatives in Quezon City, Metro Manila.

This full-time role reports to senior leadership and balances on-site work with our office environment to meet project demands. You will oversee solar project development, budgeting, stakeholder engagement, cross-functional teams, and compliance with energy regulations to drive profitable growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business management, or related field; MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in project management with at least 5 years in renewable energy, preferably solar.
• Proven track record of delivering large-scale projects from conception to completion.
• Strong financial acumen with budgeting, cost control, and reporting.
• Demonstrated leadership managing diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and negotiation with internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Philippine energy regulations, renewable incentives, and licensing requirements.
• Technical understanding of solar technology, system design and installation.

About the role

Abenson Ventures, Inc. is seeking an experienced General Manager - Solar Projects to lead our solar energy initiatives in Quezon City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to drive strategic growth and operational excellence within our renewable energy portfolio. As General Manager - Solar Projects, you will oversee all aspects of our solar project development, implementation, and management, reporting directly to senior leadership. This role is critical to our mission of expanding sustainable energy solutions and will require you to work both on-site and in our office environment as project demands dictate.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic plans for solar project portfolio, ensuring alignment with company objectives and market opportunities
• Oversee project planning, budgeting, and financial forecasting for all assigned solar initiatives, maintaining profitability and cost efficiency
• Lead cross-functional teams including engineers, operations staff, and contractors to ensure timely project delivery and quality standards
• Manage stakeholder relationships including clients, government agencies, suppliers, and community partners to facilitate smooth project execution
• Monitor project performance metrics and key performance indicators, implementing corrective actions as necessary
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, safety standards, and environmental regulations across all solar projects
• Identify and evaluate new business opportunities within the solar energy sector to drive portfolio growth
• Lead recruitment, training, and development of project management team members
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to optimise cost and service delivery
• Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management on project status, financial performance, and strategic initiatives

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business management, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced qualification is preferred
• Minimum 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in the renewable energy sector, preferably solar projects
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects from conception through completion
• Strong financial acumen, including experience with project budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience managing diverse teams and fostering collaborative working environments
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• In-depth knowledge of Philippine energy regulations, renewable energy incentives, and government licensing requirements
• Technical understanding of solar technology, system design, and installation processes
• Strong problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking mindset
• Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is advantageous
• Experience with ERP systems and project management software
• Flexibility to travel to project sites as required
