About the role
We are looking for a motivated Junior Solar Engineer to support the design, engineering, and implementation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Parañaque City, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. The Junior Solar Engineer will work closely with senior engineers, project managers, installers, suppliers, and other members of the project team. The role involves assisting with site assessments, load analysis, system sizing, electrical design, preparation of technical drawings and documentation, and project coordination.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in the design and engineering of residential, commercial, and industrial solar PV systems.
- Perform preliminary load analysis, solar system sizing, energy-yield calculations, and equipment selection.
- Prepare and update single-line diagrams, electrical layouts, PV module layouts, and other technical drawings.
- Support the preparation of technical proposals, bills of materials, equipment specifications, and design documentation.
- Assist in conducting and reviewing site surveys and site-assessment reports.
- Use solar design and simulation software such as PVsyst, PV*SOL, HelioScope, or similar platforms.
- Assist with CAD drawings using AutoCAD or equivalent software.
- Coordinate with project managers, installers, suppliers, and other technical personnel to ensure proper project execution.
- Assist in performing technical calculations and ensuring that solar PV designs comply with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and grid-interconnection requirements.
- Provide site visits and technical support during installation, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
About you
- Knowledge of solar PV system design and engineering principles.
- Proficiency with solar design and simulation software such as PVsyst, PV*SOL, HelioScope, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD or equivalent.
- Understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and grid-interconnection requirements.
- Strong technical and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with senior engineers, project managers, installers, and suppliers.
Qualifications
- * Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- * Fresh graduates are welcome to apply; 0–2 years of relevant experience in solar PV, electrical design, renewable energy, or construction projects is an advantage.
- * Basic understanding of solar PV systems, electrical systems, system sizing, and electrical design principles.
- * Familiarity with single-line diagrams, electrical layouts, and basic component selection.
- * Familiarity with solar design/simulation software such as PVsyst, PV*SOL, HelioScope, or similar software is an advantage.
- * Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or other CAD software is preferred.
- * Basic understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and grid-interconnection requirements.
- * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail.
- * Good written and verbal communication skills.
- * Willingness to learn and work under the guidance of senior engineers.
- * Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
- * Willingness to conduct site visits and travel to project locations when required.
- * Experience in solar installation, project coordination, construction supervision, or electrical works is an advantage but not required.
