Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking a General Accountant Supervisor to support the Finance & Business Support team in maintaining accurate financial records. You will oversee general accounting activities, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing, ensuring compliance with hotel policies and internal controls.

You will guide Finance colleagues, coordinate with departments, and help improve accounting processes and efficiency while ensuring compliance with regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accountancy or related field.
• CPA qualification is an advantage.
• 3–4 years of relevant accounting or finance experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and GL processes.
• Knowledge of Philippine taxation and statutory requirements is a plus.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in Excel and MS Office; familiarity with hotel financial systems.

General Accountant Supervisor

As our General Accountant Supervisor, you will support the Finance & Business Support team in maintaining accurate and timely financial records. You will oversee general accounting activities, account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end closing requirements while ensuring compliance with hotel policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.

You’ll also provide guidance to Finance colleagues and work closely with other departments to ensure financial transactions are properly recorded and supported.

Your day to day

• Supervise and support daily general accounting activities and ensure transactions are accurately recorded.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account schedules, and general ledger transactions.
• Perform and review balance sheet and general ledger account reconciliations.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes and ensure required schedules are completed on time.
• Assist in preparing financial statements, management reports, and supporting financial schedules.
• Investigate account variances, discrepancies, and unusual transactions and ensure appropriate resolution.
• Maintain complete and organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, income audit, payroll accounting, and other Finance functions when required.
• Assist in maintaining effective internal controls and ensuring compliance with established Finance policies and procedures.
• Prepare documents and schedules required for internal and external audits.
• Support compliance with applicable tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with hotel departments to resolve accounting and financial documentation concerns.
• Guide and support Finance colleagues in completing accounting tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and operational efficiency.
• Perform other accounting and Finance responsibilities assigned by Finance leadership.

What we need from you

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Financial Management, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is an advantage.
• At least 3–4 years of relevant Accounting or Finance experience, preferably within the hotel or hospitality industry.
• Previous supervisory or team-lead experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger processes.
• Good understanding of month-end closing, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Knowledge of Philippine taxation and statutory requirements is an advantage.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications; experience with hotel accounting or financial systems is an advantage.
• Good organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet reporting deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• High level of integrity, accountability, and confidentiality when handling financial information.
