Job summary

InterContinental 62s Group plc in Metro Manila is seeking a Chief Accountant to support the Director of Finance & Business Support, overseeing hotel accounting operations, ensuring accurate, timely financial transactions and compliant reporting.

You will supervise key accounting functions, maintain internal controls, assist with budgeting and audits, and work with hotel departments to uphold sound financial practices across the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or a closely related field.
• CPA qualification preferred.
• 4-5 years progressive Accounting/Finance experience, preferably in hotel or hospitality.
• Previous supervisory experience in Accounting/Finance preferred.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Good understanding of Philippine taxation and statutory reporting requirements.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with hotel accounting systems is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting activities and ensure timely transactions.
• Support month-end and year-end close with journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and reports.
• Review general ledger accounts and ensure proper support and reconciliation.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Review accounts payable/receivable, payroll-related accounting, and other finance transactions.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure policy compliance.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring, and financial analysis.
• Monitor balance sheet accounts and follow up on unusual items.
• Coordinate and provide supporting documentation for audits.
• Ensure compliance with accounting, tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
• Work with department leaders to resolve accounting concerns.
• Supervise and develop Finance colleagues and enhance their capabilities.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and accuracy.

Your day to day

• Oversee daily accounting activities and ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and financial reports.
• Review general ledger accounts and ensure balances are properly supported and reconciled.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
• Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, income audit, payroll-related accounting, and other finance transactions as required.
• Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with hotel financial policies and procedures.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring, and financial analysis.
• Monitor balance sheet accounts and follow up on outstanding or unusual items.
• Coordinate and provide supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable accounting, tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements.

What we need from you

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or a closely related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is preferred.
• At least 4-5 years of progressive Accounting or Finance experience, preferably within the hotel or hospitality industry.
• Previous supervisory experience in an Accounting or Finance function is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Good understanding of Philippine taxation and statutory reporting requirements.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications; experience with hotel accounting or financial systems is an advantage.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines, particularly during month-end and year-end closing.
• Good communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• High level of integrity, accountability, and confidentiality when handling financial information.
