Job summary

MicroSourcing in Libis, Quezon City is seeking a General Accountant to join our onsite team on dayshift. You will manage the general ledger, perform month-end close, prepare financial statements, and support AP/AR, ensuring compliance with GAAP/IFRS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3-5 years of solid general accounting or corporate finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts with accuracy.
• Execute month-end and year-end close processes and prepare journal entries.
• Prepare financial statements (BS, P&L, Cash Flow).
• Perform reconciliations for bank, credit card, and intercompany accounts.
• Support AP/AR processes and audit readiness.

Your Role

As a General Accountant, you will:

• General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and classified.
• Month-End & Year-End Close: Execute month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and fixed asset depreciation.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow) in accordance with accounting standards.
• Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank, credit card, and intercompany reconciliations to ensure data integrity.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight: Support or oversee the AP/AR functions, verifying invoice approvals and tracking aging schedules.
• Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audit preparations by providing required documentation, schedules, and workpapers.

What You Need

Non-negotiables

• Experience: 3-5 years of solid experience in general accounting or corporate finance roles.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with cloud-based ERP systems (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Core Competencies: Solid grasp of standard accounting principles (such as GAAP or IFRS), financial analysis, and internal control structures.

Preferred Skills/expertise

• AU Taxation Experience: Prior experience with Australian tax compliance—including Business Activity Statements (BAS), Goods and Services Tax (GST), and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT)-is highly advantageous but not required.
• Certifications: Professional designation such as CA, CPA, or ACCA (or currently progressing toward one).
