Job summary

Aroya Cruises is seeking an experienced Navigation Officer to stand watch and manage voyage planning for our vessel operations in and around the Philippines. You will report defects, maintain navigation logs, and ensure MARPOL compliance during all voyages.

You will also monitor safety, assist with muster procedures, and support the Staff Captain in safe and efficient ship operations, while upholding the company safety management system and global maritime regulations.

Qualifications

• Essential navigation duties for a marine officer.
• Experience in voyage planning and MARPOL regulations is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Standing a regular watch as assigned by the Captain.
• Report defects to the Master for all navigation equipment.
• Keep navigation equipment log books current.
• Perform voyage planning and environmental voyage planning, including MARPOL regulations.
• Maintain chart folios and publications up-to-date per Notices to Mariners.
• Handle Port Questionnaires and provide port traffic, tidal and current information.
• Submit a final technical itinerary to Staff Chief Engineer with required info.
• Perform emergency duties as assigned on Muster List.
• Ensure safety and security of vessel, passengers and crew on watch in port and underway.
• Assist Staff Captain to ensure safe and efficient ship operation.
• Understand relevant rules, regulations, codes and guidelines and adhere to Safety Management System.
• Monitor daily, weekly and monthly GMDSS tests and radio logs.
• Assist with additional duties as requested by ships management.
