Job summary

Cloudstaff Philippines Inc. seeks a hands-on Financial Controller to own the books, cash and reporting across group entities as the company scales toward commercial operations in 2027.

You will coordinate external advisers, manage cash runway and governance, and build finance processes from scratch in a fast-growing environment. The role is highly autonomous, combines accounting and finance leadership, and requires handling ASC 350‑60 considerations and cross-border obligations as the business

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA or ICAN considered.
• 5–10 years of hands-on accounting with monthly close ownership.
• Experience in lean finance environments and startups preferred.
• Interest in Bitcoin/digital assets is advantageous.
• Ability to operate across multiple entities and jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

Run the day-to-day finance of client as its first dedicated finance hire. Client is a pre-revenue business building modular high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure that converts stranded power into Bitcoin mining, with commercial operations targeted from January 2027. The Controller owns the books, cash and reporting, manages the external advisers who handle tax, audit and compliance, and gets the finance function ready for go-live. It is a hands‑on, build‑it role, not an oversight seat.

Key responsibilities

Books, close and controls

• Own bookkeeping, the chart of accounts and a reliable monthly close across the group entities.
• Run accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations and expense control.
• Stand up the accounting system and the internal controls that suit the stage of the business.

Cash, runway and capital

• Manage cash and runway: track burn against the funds raised, maintain a rolling forecast, and flag runway risk early.
• Track the deployment of capital against the build budget (transformers, containers and mining fleet) across Phase 1 and Phase 2.
• Administer investor obligations as they fall due, including the preferred dividend paid quarterly in arrears from Q3 2026.
• Manage banking, treasury and custody across the USD, AED and NGN accounts.

Board, investor and JV reporting

• Produce monthly management accounts and the board pack, reconciled to the canonical financial model, with budget-versus-actual and variance commentary.
• Support investor reporting across the SPVs and JV reporting for the Oando and Shoreline ventures.
• Keep the venture‑level economics (the power partner's share and the project waterfall) separate from holdco‑level investor obligations.

Manage advisers and prepare for operations

• Act as the single point of contact for Deloitte, Templars, TLP Advisory and the treasury and custody banks: own the deliverables while the specialists execute the filings.
• Get the finance function ready for commercial operations from January 2027: revenue recognition, Bitcoin treasury and digital‑asset accounting under ASC 350‑60, and the consolidation and transfer‑pricing framework, working with Deloitte and growing into ownership as the business scales.

Qualifications and experience

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent; ICAN valued for Nigerian work).
• Five to ten years of experience, including hands‑on ownership of the books and a monthly close.
• Comfortable being the only finance person in a young company: setting up systems, managing cash, and working without a large team.
• Startup, infrastructure, energy or mining experience welcome; interest in Bitcoin and digital assets an advantage.
• Confident managing external auditors and advisers, and able to grow into multi‑entity, cross‑border complexity.

Technical competencies

• Management accounting, month‑end close and cash‑flow forecasting.
• Setting up an accounting system, a chart of accounts and controls from scratch.
• Financial modelling literacy: maintaining a model, budget‑versus‑actual and scenario work.
• Working awareness of crypto‑asset accounting (ASC 350‑60) and multi‑entity consolidation, with the appetite to grow into them.
• Coordinating Big Four auditors and multi‑jurisdiction advisers.

This is a highly hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys building systems, improving processes, and operating independently in a fast‑growing business. The successful candidate will own the day‑to‑day finance operations, maintain accurate financial records, manage cash and reporting, coordinate external advisers, and prepare the finance function for commercial operations.

The successful candidate will ideally possess:

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• ICAN qualification or Nigerian accounting experience is highly desirable.
• 5–10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
• Demonstrated ownership of month‑end close and financial reporting.
• Experience managing accounting in a standalone or lean finance environment.
• Ability to establish finance processes and systems from scratch.
• Experience in startups, infrastructure, energy, mining or digital assets is advantageous.
• Interest in Bitcoin and digital asset businesses is beneficial.
• Experience coordinating external auditors, tax advisers and professional service firms.
• Confidence operating across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions.

Success Measures (First 12 Months)

Success in the role will be demonstrated by:

• Maintaining accurate books with a dependable monthly close process.
• Delivering a trusted cash flow and runway forecast relied upon by the CEO and Board.
• Producing timely Board packs fully reconciled to the company's financial model.
• Successfully managing external audit, tax and compliance advisers while ensuring all statutory deliverables are completed on schedule.
• Building a finance function that is fully operational and ready to support commercial operations commencing in January 2027.
• Establishing scalable financial processes capable of supporting Terrahex's future growth across multiple jurisdictions.
