What you'll do:
To provide accurateand timely accounting support to Windsor Architectural Hardware (WAH),including the preparation of monthly management accounts, accounts payable andreceivable processing, bank reconciliations and monthly work papers. The rolesupports the Financial Controller in maintaining accurate financial records,reporting and compliance. The scope of the role is expected to expand overtime, with the possibility of assuming full responsibility for accountspayable.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Management Accounts andReporting
- Prepare monthly work papers,balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Monitor income andexpenditure against budget and flag variances to the FinancialController.
- Assist with preparation ofdata for budgets, forecasts and year-end.
- Ensure all financialadministration, accounting processes and reporting are completedaccurately and on time.
- Accounts Payable
- Day-to-day processing andreconciliation of suppliertransactions.
- Process supplier invoicesaccurately and in a timely manner.
- Reconcile supplierstatements and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare payment runs forreview and approval by the Financial Controller.
- Maintain accurate supplierrecords in the accounting system.
- Accounts Receivable andCredit Control
- Day-to-day processing ofcustomer transactions and follow-up of outstanding debt.
- Provide cover and overflowsupport to the Accounts Receivable Officer, including:
- Process customer invoices,credit notes and statements on time.
- Follow up outstanding debtsto support achievement of debtor days KPIs.
- Process customer rebates andhead office allocations on a monthly basis.
- Escalate problem accounts tothe Financial Controller.
- Bank, General Ledger andReconciliations
- Assist the AccountsReceivable Officer with daily, weekly and monthly bank reconciliations,and provide cover when required.
- Maintain the general ledger,including chart of accounts updates and general journal entries.
- Complete inter-company andbalance sheet account reconciliations.
- Identify errors in financialdata and rectify them or expedite as appropriate.
- Compliance
- Assist with compliance withInland Revenue requirements, including GST and FBT data preparation.
- Maintain accurate records tosupport compliance and statutory reporting.
- Apply company financial policies and procedures consistently.
- Foreign Exchange
- Accurate recording of FXtransactions in the accountingsystem.
- Other tasks as reasonablyrequired.
Successful candidate must have:
- Tertiary or professionalaccounting qualification (Bachelor of Commerce, equivalent degree, orrecognised accounting diploma).
- Minimum 3 years' experienceas a finance assistant or in a similar accounting role.
- Working knowledge ofaccounting and ERP software.
- Working knowledge of relevantaccounting standards and tax requirements.
- Experience preparingmanagement accounts, work papers and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Strong written and oralEnglish communication skills.
- Able to work hours providingsubstantial overlap with New Zealand business hours, including additionalavailability during the month-end close.
- Experience working with NewZealand or Australian businesses.
- Experience with MicrosoftDynamics 365 Business Central or a comparable ERP.
- Experience in importing,wholesale or retail industries.

- Schedule: 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM PHT
